Hang in there while we get back on track
Sutcliffe Hansen was founded by Marshall from Wristwatch Revival and Alex, his friend and passionate watch collector. We started out by selling watchmaking tools for hobbyist watchmakers looking to get into watchmaking. As we got deeper into the industry, we started to understand just how much of a void exists in the market for careful conservation and restoration of vintage watches. We received many, many requests every single day for Marshall to fix people's watches. However, Marshall is just one person -- and he's focused on producing content for YouTube. Unfortunately, he cannot address all of these requests, and moreover.
To address this, we decided to launch a new side of our business, Sutcliffe Hansen Vintage Watch Restoration. We are very lucky to know some top-tier horological conservators, SAWTA-certified watchmakers, and experienced technicians. We have hired a team of watchmakers who are passionate about vintage watches and have the skills to restore them to their former glory.
In restoration, Sutcliffe Hansen prioritizes using all the original parts and replacing as few components as possible. We believe that a watch should be as close to its original state as possible, and we take great care to ensure that our restorations are done with the utmost respect for the watch's history and craftsmanship. We also understand that vintage watches are not just timepieces, but also pieces of art and personal history.
We document a watch's entire service journey on our job timeline page. This is a unique feature that, while it isn't a full Wristwatch Revival video, does come close to providing a similar documentation of the restoration.
We believe that we are married to a watch's future when we service it, and we stand by our work. It is with this mentality that we approach every job. We stay away from shortcuts, and are not afraid to take the time to do things right.
